Charity MilesOne of my favorite activities to enjoy is walking. Every day, I got for a 3.5 mile walk, sometimes accompanied by my mother, and sometimes alone. There are mental health benefits to getting outside regularly, and having regular exercise: so, try to go out for a walk today. If you want to track how far you go, my favorite app to use is called Charity Miles. You can choose to ask people to sponsor the miles you walk, run, or bike; but you can also just select your charity, and the app has company sponsors that give about 5 to 10 cents per mile. It is a small way to give back on something I already love doing. Well, I'll be back soon. The weather is too nice to stay inside today.

Recently, it snowed in Iowa. And I did not want to go outside. ever. So, I found some videos to exercise with from POPSUGAR. The videos are free, usually 30 minutes, and led by real instructors that led me in activities that made my body hurt the next day- in a good way. So, I figured I would attach the link to their channel below, so you can explore! They have a little bit of everything, so if you've wanted to try kickboxing, Zumba-esque Latin Dance, Yoga, Barre, or Pilates; they have it all.
Zumba is an instructor led dance course, typically focusing on cardio and increasing heart rate. You can find plenty of videos with typical classes, and most use latin based music, sometimes with hip hop inspiration. The instructor never speaks. Just a forewarning. However, another blog compiled ten Disney Zumba workouts that you can sweat it out with, which I have linked to below. The ten songs include:
1. How Far I'll Go- Moana 2. You're Welcome- Moana 3. Friend Like Me- Aladdin 4. Try Everything- Zootopia 5. I Just Can't Wait To Be King- The Lion King 6. Carrying the Banner- Newsies 7. Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious- Mary Poppins 8. We Know the Way- Moana 9. Let It Go- Frozen 10. Disney Medley Cooldown: includes Lion King, Aladdin, Pocahontas. Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, and finishes with the Lion King If you have Facebook, you can hop on to the Sports Academy's page this week and watch their livestream video lessons at the set time, or you can rewatch the videos they posted on your own! This is a great way to have some kind of physical activitiy that has been planned and structured by a coach for skill building. The button below is linked to the Hesse Carlson Arena's Facebook page, where you should be able to access the videos in their previous photos or posts.
